Pili Kitashima
Certified Inspector
Pili Kitashima has been employed by Building Specs Hawaii since June of 2021. He is also a member of the Honolulu Fire Department since 2010. Pili has numerous professional experiences in customer service that enhance his interactions as a home inspector. He decided to pursue a career in home inspecting due to his ability to work well with a variety of people as well as his desire to be involved in occupations that specialize in providing valuable services. Before becoming employed by Building Specs Hawai‘i, Pili was a client of the company. Pili had his own personal home inspection as a first time home buyer performed by Building Specs Hawai‘i home inspector Jesse Maka’ina’i. In his very first experience with a home inspection, Pili was completely surprised and appreciative of the amount of details that went into the process. He later approached Jesse for an opportunity to become an inspector himself. Pili is certified through InterNachi and is currently working towards his ASHI certification as an associate member. In addition, to his online certification, Pili completed a 6 month apprenticeship program in which he trained directly under members of the Building Specs Hawai‘i team to learn how to inspect properties with the most detail, care and to the highest industry standards.
Pili is a 2002 graduate of The Kamehameha Schools where he continues to coach pole vaulting through the track and field program. He is born and raised in Pearl City O’ahu and is married to his classmate and friend Keoho. Together they are raising their three keiki. When Pili and Keoho are not working, they try to get in as much family time at the beach as possible.
